The Mood in Society
Social Mood Label is a digital-first platform that documents, questions, and reflects on how societal conditions shape collective mood. We explore themes such as; Recreation for well being, Children and youth advocacy, Masculinity, Violence against women, Fashion and identity.
Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) have been declared a national disaster in South Africa.
This marks a critical moment in our country’s fight to protect women, children, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ communities from ongoing violence and discrimination.
During the global G20 Summit, public mobilization reached a powerful peak. The “G20 Women’s Shutdown” saw women workers across the country pause for 15 minutes of silence to honour those whose lives have been impacted or lost due to violence.
A national petition; signed by more than one million South Africans, was delivered to government leaders, strengthening the long standing calls for action!
As we recognise the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, we stand with all communities affected by GBVF.
This period serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to speak out, raise awareness, and advocate for safer homes, workplaces, and public spaces for everyone.
